United States Capitol

Buff, cuanto me queda aun pendiente por contaros.

Intentaré mantenerlo por orden, así que creo toca hablar del CapitolioJ

Prácticamente visible desde cualquier punto del centro de Washington, he de reconocer que todavía no había entrado a visitarlo (aunque si había estado dentro, que desde la biblioteca del congreso puede accederse a este edificio a través de un pasillo en el sótano- muchos de los edificios de la ciudad están conectados mediante estos “pasadizos” subterráneos-).

A lo que iba, nos fuimos a visitar el edificio del Capitolio y después de tanta expectación, tantas películas, tantos telediarios… esperaba más. Es un gran edificio, bonito y trabajado desde el suelo al techo, pero poco más que admirar, al fin y al cabo no es un museo, es un precioso edificio de oficinas.

Eso sí, nos divertimos de lo lindo, ajja.

Practically visible from any point in

downtown, I have to admit that I had never visited  it before (even if I have been inside: by a subterranean corridor from the Library of Congress- a lot of buildings in DC are connected with ‘passages’-)

Ok, we visited the U.S. Capitol, and after

so much expectation, films and news... I was waiting for something better... It is a gorgeous building, beautiful and amazing from the floor to the ceiling, but there is no too much, actually it is not a museum, it is just a lovely office’s building.

But it was really fun.

2 curiosidades: la estatua del vestíbulo (the Statue of freedom) es una réplica exacta de la que corona lo alto del Capitolio; sí, esa que se ve como un puntito ahí arriba…

2 curiosities:  the statue at the hall (The Statue of Freedom) it is exactly the same that the one at the top of the roof.

Y mi favorita: the Whispering room: uno de esos curiosos rincones desde los que si te colocas en el lugar exacto, puedes oír con total claridad a una persona susurrando a pesar de encontrarse al otro lado de la sala J

And second, my favourite, the whispering room: if you are in the correct place you can hear a person whispering even thought he is in the other side of the room.

Esta estrella señala el centro exacto del Capitolio (y el que pretendía ser el centro exacto de la ciudad)

This star marks the Capitol’s center (and it is expected to be the center of Washington DC)
